University Referendum Results

In accordance with the provisions of art. 35 (5) of Framework methodology regarding the process of establishing and electing leadership structures and functions at Romanian higher education institutions., approved by OME no. 6227/September 5, 2023, and art. 10 (5) of Proprietary methodology for organizing and conducting the university referendum, to the attention of the entire academic community referendum results held at the university level Titu Maiorescu from Bucharest on December 7, 2023 regarding the choice of method for appointing the Rector for the 2024-2029 term:
- Total eligible voters: 351
- Total voters who exercised their right to vote: 218 (62%)
- Total valid votes cast: 217 (61%)
- The minimum number of valid votes
necessary for the referendum to be valid: 176 - Total votes cast for the option
„through public competition 12 (3%) - Total votes cast for the option
„by the universal, direct, and secret vote of all
tenured teaching and research staff from UTM, 205 (58%)
as well as student representatives in the Senate and
faculty councils
In consideration of the above, the academic community of UTM has opted for the designation of the Rector by the universal, direct, and secret vote of all tenured teaching and research staff in UTM, as well as student representatives in the Senate and faculty councils.
The referendum results were validated by the Senate UTM through Resolution no. 7 of 13.12.2023.
