Years of history and education
On September 20, 1990, a group, primarily composed of teaching staff, convened to establish the Titu Maiorescu Independent University Association, based on Law no. 21/1924. By Civil Ruling no. 59/January 25, 1991, issued by the Sector 1 Court of Bucharest, the Titu Maiorescu Independent University Association was granted legal personality. The founding members were: Avram Filipaş, Gheorghe Niculescu, Vasile V. Cândea, Mioara Slavu, Maria Magdalena Săvescu, Corneliu Zaharia, Stelorian Stănescu, Mihai Şerban Voiculescu, Mihai Stănescu, Virgil Ciubotau, Andrei Gherghi, Lidia Storosciuc, Livia Văsui, Dan Dumitrescu, Ioan Rădulescu, Petre Wilhem Lucan, Andrei Voinea, Aurel Dincu, Ioan Tonei Ciobanu, Gabriela Burducea, Ecaterina Ciocan. The members unanimously decided to elect Prof. Univ. Dr. Avram Filipas as rector, a position he held until his death in 2006.

Choosing a name
The name „Titu Maiorescu” He was chosen because he represents a complex personality with significant activities in education, culture, justice, and literature, being an emblematic figure for a comprehensive university that encompasses various faculties and has concerns and functions in multiple fields.
1990-1991
Titu Maiorescu Independent University Association
1990 – the first faculties established were: Law, Economics, and Medicine.
1991 - The Faculty of Psychology was founded.
1994-2000
Integrating other medical faculties into UITM
In 1994, the Senate decreed that all medical and dental faculties from other private universities: name, be integrated within Titu Maiorescu Independent University.
During this same period, new fields of study were created, such as Arts, Journalism, Horticulture, Electromechanical Engineering.
2000
Inauguration of V-body
Until the establishment of Corps V in the year 2000, educational activities took place in rooms located in Piața Amzei, the History Museum, Poșta Română, and the headquarters was located on Dionisie Lupu Street, as well as in other institutions.
2002-2003
Titu Maiorescu University
2002 – appeared Distance learning.
2002 – 2003 – Faculty of Law obtained first accreditation for master'sBusiness Law and Criminal Law.
After 2003 – were established master's programs at the Faculty of Psychology, Computer Science, and Economic Sciences.

Internationalization and research
2002 – appeared Distance learning.

2006-2009
Doctoral Schools and the ALUMNI Association
The first doctoral schools at Titu Maiorescu University were founded in the following order: Doctoral School of Dental Medicine in 2006, and Doctoral School of Law in 2009.
The Alumni Association of the Faculty of Law of Titu Maiorescu University was founded in December 2007. On December 17, 2010, the Sector 3 Court approved the amendment of the constitutive act and the statute, changing the name to Titu Maiorescu University Alumni Association.
2008-2010
Campus Expansion and Modernization
To meet the demands of an increasing number of students, Titu Maiorescu University has invested significantly in infrastructure:
2008 Inauguration Rectorate;
2009 Opening Body M;
2010 Creation Private Clinical Center from the IOR campus, intended for the practical training of students from the Faculty of Dental Medicine.

High Trust 2012-2017
In June 2012, following the institutional evaluation, The Romanian Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ARACIS) granted Titu Maiorescu University high degree of trust – highest rating which can be awarded to a university in Romania.

Maiorescian Students Association
Maiorescian Students Association represents the oldest association within Titu Maiorescu University. ASM currently represents approximately 8000 students. The association's goal is to represent, promote, and defend students' rights, with the desire to jointly create a conducive community where every student can freely express their opinion.

Faculty of Pharmacy
The Faculty of Pharmacy has been established within the Șincai campus of Titu Maiorescu University. This represents the culmination of the university management's effort to complete the triad of faculties dedicated to medical studies: the Faculty of Medicine, the Faculty of Dental Medicine, and the Faculty of Pharmacy.

The Academic Agency of La Francophonie (AUF)
2015 – participation UTM in the program RESuf 2015 (Network for the Support of Women in Universities and Research), which was organized by The Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF).
Titu Maiorescu University (UTM) in Bucharest is a member of University Agency of Francophonie (AUF). This affiliation allows it to participate in various international programs and projects within the Francophone community.
2015-2016
Doctoral School of Medicine
Doctoral School of Medicine The University of Titu Maiorescu (UTM) in Bucharest was founded in 2015, according to Government Decision no. 595/2015.
2015 - The Faculty of Nursing in Târgu Jiu was authorized.
2016 – The Master's program in Oral Rehabilitation was launched at the Faculty of Dentistry.
2016 – Introduction of English-language study programs for Medicine and Dentistry.

High confidence level 2017-2022
The Romanian Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ARACIS) granted Titu Maiorescu University in Bucharest the qualification High confidence level for the period 2017-2022.
2018
„Titu Maiorescu” University Clinical Hospital”
Titu Maiorescu University (UTM) purchased in 2018 space for Titu Maiorescu University Hospital, which is currently under construction. This project aims to integrate a modern university hospital within UTM, thereby facilitating the practical training of Medicine and Dental Medicine students, as well as providing quality medical services to the community.
2020
University Success Center
The University Success Center (CRU) of the Titu Maiorescu University is part of the CRU network created by the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF). Since its establishment in January 2020, the university's francophone center has carried out a significant number of actions: conferences, exchange of experience with other francophone universities, and bilingual publications.
2021
Inauguration of a new building in IOR
On November 23, 2021, Titu Maiorescu University in Bucharest inaugurated an ultramodern building intended for higher medical education. The building is located on the University's medical campus, where two faculties of the same profile conduct a large part of their activities: the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Dentistry.
2021 - came into being AUMAM, the representative association of the Faculty of Medicine of UTM, General Medicine and General Nursing specialization.
2022
Titu Maiorescu's 1861 Law thesis
Titu Maiorescu University acquired through public tender Titu Maiorescu's law thesis, presented at the University of Paris in 1861.
2022 – was inaugurated The Anatomika Nursing Lab medical practice laboratory.
