WORLD EDUCATION DAY AT TITU MAIORESCU UNIVERSITY

As part of the start of the 2022-2023 academic year, Titu Maiorescu University in Bucharest celebrates, on October 5th, World Education Day. Established in 1994 as World Teacher's Day, with reference to the 1966 signing of the UNESCO and International Labour Organization (ILO) Recommendation concerning the Status of Teachers, and adopted in Romania in 2013 at the educational system level, this day has expanded its significance from teaching staff to Education as a whole.
World Education Day 2022 constitutes for Titu Maiorescu University an occasion to honor teachers and their activities, dedicated to the intellectual, moral, and professional development of the younger generations, and to celebrate quality education, worthy of higher education standards. At the same time, for the maiorescian academic community, this day creates a special framework for reflection on the role and importance of education in the training of young people and the development of society, at strategies and means for continuous improvement of the quality of educational acts, for cultivating excellence and performance in education and research.
In the vision of Titu Maiorescu University, a professor must be o academic authority in the field of specialization, one mentor and one guide in the process of university preparation, a moral role model, an educator with an impeccable profile, a promoter of ethics and academic integrity.
