Titu Maiorescu University of Bucharest It is considered that war, waged anywhere in the world and by any means, is an extreme method of resolving political disputes, which belongs to the past and contradicts the values and aspirations of the contemporary world. The only acceptable way to address conflicts between states is diplomatic dialogue based on the principles and provisions of international treaties and documents.
Regarding the war in Ukraine, Titu Maiorescu University expresses its deep regret for the situation created, for the loss of human lives, and for the suffering and destruction caused. At the same time, the entire university community expresses its compassion for and solidarity with the population affected by the armed conflict. The university remains faithful to its founding principles and values, of a humanist essence, which place humans at the center of all its concerns.
In this spirit, in the current crisis situation caused by the war, which is producing victims among the military and civilian population, Titu Maiorescu University has initiated an aid program for refugees from Ukraine. The program consists of: providing accommodation and food in university facilities for the most vulnerable categories of refugees (mothers and children, the elderly); providing medical assistance, medicines, sanitary materials, clothes, and other necessary items for those in need.
In these times when Europe is returning to the traumatic experiences of military confrontations, which tragically marked the last century, Titu Maiorescu University expresses its hope for the triumph of reason and the immediate cessation of war in the name of life and humanity.
