Distinguished members of the maiorescian academic community,
We are at the end of 2024 and the anniversary academic year 2024-2025, an academic year with multiple events determined by the celebration of our University's 35th anniversary. This leads us to a moment of reflection on our achievements this year, and not only, and allows us to look confidently and hopefully towards 2025. In these moments of evaluation, we can declare ourselves proud of the journey of our university community, a community that has once again demonstrated that through creativity, sustained effort, solidarity, and team spirit, it can achieve remarkable results.
2024 was a year that brought us satisfaction and fulfillment on multiple levels. Our University has consolidated its position among the top 30 higher education institutions in Romania, a performance that reflects the professionalism of our teaching staff, the perseverance of our students and the collective support of the maiorescian community. Among the important achievements of the year, we would like to mention the opening of a new study program at the Faculty of Law and Economics in Târgu Jiu, a significant step in the direction of diversifying our educational offer and turning our focus towards the real needs of the labor market in the area. At the same time, it is also worth mentioning the fact that the occupancy rate of the enrollment reached 85%, which is an eloquent proof of the increased interest in quality education offered by Titu Maiorescu University. From the financial point of view, this year we managed to create a correlation between fee income and salary indexation, which increased the financial stability of the university employees. In the year 2024, the internationalization process continued successfully, maintaining a significant number of international students (6%), which attests to the academic prestige of the university internationally. We have invested in the modernization of the teaching and practical infrastructure, providing students with the opportunity to develop solid professional skills that ensure their competitiveness in the labor market.
For the year 2025, we are setting ambitious, achievable goals with the same responsibility and determination. Human resources remain a priority, aiming to increase the employment rate of teaching positions, thereby consolidating the academic foundation of our university. Furthermore, we will continue to develop infrastructure and enhance the institution's research capacity, seeking to increase the involvement of teaching staff in research projects relevant to each study program offered by the university. On the international front, we will focus on attracting a larger number of international students and on developing academic and research partnerships, particularly with institutions within the European Union.
Starting in 2025, Maiorescu university diplomacy must hold a significant place in the development of the university's international relations, ensuring the fulfillment of all institutional objectives internationally. The development of material resources, the continuation of the digitization process, and the development of green energy infrastructure will remain strategic priorities. Furthermore, we aim to ensure a sustainable balance between tuition fee revenues, salary costs, and institutional investments by optimizing the effectiveness of cost centers.
We aim to constantly increase the satisfaction of our students and alumni, ensuring the highest quality of teaching activity and student services to be constantly in step with current requirements. At the same time, we wish that the events dedicated to the UTM 35th anniversary of Titu Maiorescu University represent an important vector of image for Titu Maiorescu University and contribute to the consolidation of our academic community.
This way, students, faculty, and administrative staff will participate enthusiastically, with dedication and pride in these events that will cultivate a sense of belonging to the Maiorescu community for all.

We face the year 2025 with sobriety, but also with justified enthusiasm. The university has clear objectives, well-founded plans, a strong community, and an implementation capacity that will ensure medium and long-term sustainability and predictability. Thank you for the effort, dedication, and commitment you have shown in the year that is soon ending.
