INTERNATIONAL LAW CONFERENCE, EUROPEAN STUDIES AND INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS, EDITION II

Titu Maiorescu University – Faculty of Law

Theme: “Europe's Role in a Polarized Society”

Bucharest, May 9-10, 2014

With nearly a decade of experience organizing the international conference “Education and Creativity for a Knowledge-Based Society“, held in collaboration with the Romanian Academy of Scientists, TITU MAIORESCU UNIVERSITY of Bucharest launched a new scientific challenge in 2013, through the organization of the International Conference on Law, European Studies, and International Relations. At the first edition, 96 scientific papers were presented by renowned professors, researchers, and doctoral students from Romania and abroad. The conference, which was trilingual (Romanian, English, and French), was attended by over 10 faculty members from universities in Spain, Italy, France, and Israel.

The volume of the conference, held at Hamangiu Publishing House, was distributed to each participant at the beginning of the proceedings and later on, was distributed to the most renowned teachers in Romania as well as to university libraries. The volume has ISBN 978-606-678-642-3.

The International Law Conference aims to bring together academics, researchers, PhD students, students, and, last but not least, law practitioners to share their experiences and research results on the reform of legislation across a wide range of aspects, in line with new national, European, and international trends. It also serves as a platform to discuss practical challenges encountered and solutions adopted.

We sincerely believe that this important scientific event will be one of the most prestigious on the national legal calendar, with international reach. It will offer an opportunity to discuss current issues affecting the legal community, aiming to highlight new solutions and interpretations. A special role will be dedicated to new codifications, especially the entry into force of the New Criminal Code and the New Criminal Procedure Code.

In a world where legal systems are increasingly interfering, legal tradition requires perpetual upgrading to respond to diversity. The concept is based on the idea that LAW does not develop abstractly, but is shaped by society, economic-social reality, intellectual, cultural, and linguistic issues, but especially by immediate needs and the implementation of appropriate solutions.

We invite you to be an open window of new interpretations.

organization and conduct of the International Conference on Law, EEuropean Studies and International Relations-2014 is carried out in partnership with the Romanian Association for Law and European Affairs, and also with the Hamangiu Publishing House.

The conference will take place in Bucharest, at the Faculty of Law, Titu Maiorescu University, at 187 Vacaresti Street, sector 4.
