About the event

Corporate governance is a set of legal and self-regulatory norms that address how a company is managed, directed, or influenced through its corporate bodies. A corporate governance system is important for any state, as prosperity depends on it, thus contributing to social cohesion. The way corporate governance principles are put into practice differs greatly, as each state has its own system, even if the systems are quite similar. Also, the needs of a privately held company are totally different from the needs of a publicly traded company, so we actually speak of two governance systems: for privately held companies and for publicly traded companies.

This conference is the first with a legal focus dedicated to corporate governance. However, as corporate governance is not solely within the purview of legal sciences, the panel of speakers includes not only legal experts but also specialists in other fields that deal with corporate governance. And to address issues on companies' current agendas, the panel includes both theoreticians and practitioners. But what the speakers have in common is their experience in the field of corporate governance, so they will try to cover the most important and interesting topics.
