Titu Maiorescu University, 35 Years Since Its Founding The Faculty of Economic Sciences is identified with the University's history

 

„The Faculty of Economic Sciences of ”Titu Maiorescu” University of Bucharest joyfully and emotionally joins the events dedicated to #UTM35, marking this anniversary by organizing its own Festive General Assembly, alongside teaching staff, collaborators, graduates of the first promotion (1990-1995), students, as well as partners from the business sector, who were awarded the Diploma and Anniversary MedalUTM35.
At this event, we had the honor of being joined by Rector Prof. Dr. Daniel Cochior and Vice President Prof. Dr. Smaranda Angheni, representing the University's leadership. We were also delighted by the presence of some of our former teachers: Prof. Dr. Pavel Wagner, who also served as our Dean, Prof. Dr. Gheorghe Manea, Prof. Dr. Vasile Răileanu, and Prof. Dr. Maria Bodnar, who, along with other visionaries of that era, laid the foundation stone of this Faculty, which is intertwined with the University's history.
35 years means more than a number – it's a testament to a journey marked by hard work, dedication, and an unyielding desire to build something lasting. It's the sum of fulfilled aspirations, challenging moments, triumphs, and thousands of students who have forged their path in the world with the foundation of knowledge gained here, at the University.
We celebrate not only a temporal milestone in the institution's history, but also a tradition of sustained effort and the essential contribution that this Faculty has had and continues to have in consolidating a University that has become a beacon of excellence.

Prof. Dr. Marian SIMINICĂ Executive Director of ISF and Doctor of Economics Professor at the University of Craiova, Faculty of Economics and Business Administration. He was Vice-President of the Board of Directors of the Association of Romanian Economics Faculties (2012-2016). He is a member of several professional associations in the economic field, namely: ANEVAR expert appraiser, certified public accountant, CECCAR member; fiscal consultant, CCFR member. Since 2014, he has been Vice-President of the Romanian Society for Economic and Financial Analysis (SRAEF). Since 2017, he has been a member of the CNATDCU Commission ”Economic Sciences and Business Administration”, and since 2018, a member of the ARACIS Permanent Expert Commission, contributing to the external evaluation of numerous undergraduate and master's degree programs in the economic field.

University lecturer, Ph.D. Călin RANGU – Vice President of the CIO Council (Association of Information and Communications Technology Directors of Romania). Mr. Rangu has 30 years of experience in the financial-banking sector, in governance management, IT management and operational risk management, financial-banking technologies, and financial market supervision. He has held top positions for over 20 years within prestigious financial-banking institutions and within financial regulation and supervision authorities.

Pe 12 mai 2026, Universitatea Titu Maiorescu și-a deschis porțile pentru viitorii studenți, iar standul Facultății de Științe Economice s-a bucurat de un interes deosebit
