Titu Maiorescu University of Bucharest celebrate on April 23rd University Day. This year, the University that chose the founder of modern Romanian civilization and culture, Titu Maiorescu, as its mentor, celebrates 33 years of existence. It is an age of special significance in Christian spirituality, celebrated on a day that traditionally marks the feast day of Saint George the Great Martyr. In terms of the University's vision and mission, the celebration, which commemorates a symbiosis of symbolic meanings of high spiritual value, constitutes a institutional anniversary framework and, at the same time, of celebration of quality education and its role in building society and the future.
Founded in 1990, Titu Maiorescu University in Bucharest has undergone continuous development, throughout a highly complex process of establishment, under the auspices of a Motto assuming a program of becoming: „Quality and Performance in Education”. The 33 years constitute the historical framework of sustained development, governed by academic principles and values, and by the awareness of the University's role in society, assumed by the founders and the entire university community in a broad institutional synergy. Built on the principles of the university as an institution that has shaped Europe, Titu Maiorescu University is today a comprehensive university, medium of quality and excellence in academic education and scientific research, anchored in the present, in the Age of Knowledge and Digital Technology, and oriented, in a visionary spirit, towards the future.
Titu Maiorescu University of Bucharest has a complex structure, bringing together fundamental programs and new specializations, generated by the dynamics of knowledge evolution, which includes: 10 faculties with 24 bachelor's degree programs, of which 19 are full-time (IF) and 5 are distance learning (ID), 21 master's degree programs, covering 8 fields of study, and 3 accredited doctoral schools: Law, Medicine and Dentistry, the Department of Specialty with Psychopedagogical Profile, the Romanian Language Preparatory Program for Foreign Students, and postgraduate courses in the field of education and medicine. Defined as „university of advanced research and education”, with „high degree of trust”, awarded by ARACIS following institutional evaluation, Titu Maiorescu University is a space for quality, competitive, and high-performing education and research, under the auspices of academic excellence. The value of Titu Maiorescu University is certified by its constant presence in the National Metaranking and the University Metaranking, two official rankings that rank Romanian universities according to their performance, reflected in their position in international university rankings. Titu Maiorescu University was included in the meta-rankings for the years 2021 and 2022 among the top 30 universities in Romania, out of a total of 87 (53 state and 34 private), being the only comprehensive private university among those selected.

On the occasion of University Day, Rector of Titu Maiorescu University, University Professor, Dr. Daniel Cochior, stated: „Today, April 23, is a day of joy for our academic community for all that Titu Maiorescu University represents in Romanian education and in the European Higher Education Area. We are a solid, strong university, a quality university, which stands for excellence and performance. For this status, we are supported by certain and objective data, our position in the Metarankings, which certify an institutional reality. At the same time, the University's 33rd birthday is a moment of reflection, of projection and of assumption of the future. The current status of the University honors us, it is the fruit of the efforts of a community dedicated to education and research, the concretization of an uninterrupted evolution. This evolution must continue, with the involvement of all of us, with the harnessing of our energies and our educational, scientific and academic potential in a synergic effort dedicated to building our University. Through quality, excellence and performance, we participate as the flagship University of our academic space in the process of development through knowledge of the country.”
In the same context, President of Titu Maiorescu University, University Professor, Ph.D. Iosif Urs, stated: „Our 33 years of existence constitute a special moment in the development of our University, the most important so far - given the spiritual significance of this age -, a milestone in a process that began in 1990, with the return of the country to the values of democracy and the rule of law, and continued until today. It has been a long road, a difficult road, which we have traveled with the assumption of our mission as a University, with conscience and responsibility, with love of education, at the level of the founders and of our entire academic community, under the auspices of the spirit of Titu Maiorescu, our spiritual founder, and, in another dimension, of St. George, symbol of victory. It has been and is a path of triumph stretching over more than three decades, which will continue in the decades to come, in the light of our belief that education is the fundamental factor in the edification of man and the development of society, that education and knowledge ennoble the human being and raise him to his original dignity.
