University Referendum

UNIVERSITY REFERENDUM

By Senate Decision no. 1 of 09.11.2023, the dates for the referendum on the election of the method for designating the Rector UTM for the 2024-2029 term were approved, as follows: First round of voting - December 7, 2023, Second round of voting - December 11, 2023, between. 8⁰⁰ – 20⁰⁰. In accordance with Article 133 of Law no. 199/2023 on Higher Education, as amended and supplemented, the methods for appointing the rector are:

a) based on a public competition or

b) by universal, direct, and secret vote of all tenured teaching staff and tenured researchers of the University, as well as by student representatives in the University Senate and faculty councils.

The referendum is open to all teaching and research staff employed with indefinite contracts at the University, as well as student representatives from the University Senate and faculty councils.

Polling stations for the referendum:

1. Section No. 1Bucharest, 189 Vacaresti Road, Building M, 3rd Floor.
2. Ward no.. 2Târgu Jiu, Ecaterina Teodoroiu Blvd. no. 100, ground floor, Library of the Faculty of Law and Economic Sciences Târgu Jiu

In the University Titu Maiorescu is being organized two public debates for the information of the academic community regarding the referendum and its implications, as follows:

1. November 23, 2023, 12:00 PM⁰⁰, Bucharest, Calea Văcărești no. 189, Building M, Aula Magna.
2. November 24, 2023, 12:00 PM⁰⁰, Târgu Jiu, Ecaterina Teodoroiu Blvd. no. 100, Amphitheatre A1.
