During the academic meeting held by Titu Maiorescu University in the Olimp resort, at the Cocor Spa Hotel, between August 28 and August 31, the launch of a outstanding scientific works: The Treaty Surgical Semioliogy, Vol. I and II, produced by: University Professor, Ph.D. Daniel Cochior, Rector of Titu Maiorescu University, Associate Professor, Ph.D. Cosmin Moldovan, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Senior Lecturer Dr. Daniel Kraft and appeared at Hamangiu Publishing House, 2025
The Treaty Surgical Semiology totaling 533 pages, it is an impressive work in terms of scientific content and complexity, as well as volume. In terms of structure and subject matter, Volume I covers: surgical infections and antibiotic therapy; wounds/ararsores/discolourations; general oncology; thyroid and breast; oesophagus; stomach-duodenum; small intestine; appendix; colon; rectum, and Volume II: peri-rectal pathology; hepatobiliary and pancreas; spleen; digestive haemorrhages and mechanical jaundice; parietal defects (hernias)/events; peritonitis; trauma; peripheral circulation; shock and sepsis. In terms of its essence and usefulness, as emphasized in the presentation, the paper anchors the clinical examination and patient signs in clear algorithms for differential diagnosis and surgical management, covering the complete pathway: symptom, syndrome, investigation, indication. In terms of scientific approach and development, as well as logical continuity, Volume I sets the groundwork (infections, lesions, oncology, upper gastrointestinal and colorectal tract), while Volume II advances to emergency and complex pathology chapters (hepatobiliary, pancreas, peritonitis, trauma, shock, sepsis), exactly the sequence the clinician needs on the ward or in the operating room.
