Titu Maiorescu University celebrates the Union of the Romanian Principalities Education, the Lesson of History, and Romania as a National Project

On the occasion of the day January 24thTitu Maiorescu University expresses its gratitude to the founders of Modern Romania and to the Romanian people who supported the Grand Project of the Union.

At the same time, Cuza's Union offers the academic community greater a frame of deep reflection on the lesson that this exemplary page of history offers to the present. Several elements stand out essentialthe role of elites in history and the edification process, the need for vision, consciousness, responsibility, patriotism from the political class before the nation, the importance achievement a National Project, of cross-party solidarity around it, the necessity of creating a broad national synergy in the direction of the national interest.

History offers us a lesson from which we, today, must learn. Today's Romania must learn from yesterday's Romania for tomorrow's Romania. Events, projects, achievements, the personalities of history offer us Markers and patterns in the process of building Romania, a continuous, highly complex process, in a difficult era of contemporary history. This process demands competence, vision, conscience, ethical values, responsibility, accountability, awareness of national identity, and, last but not least, patriotism. This is the spirit in which Titu Maiorescu University educates its students, shaping the new generations intellectually, morally, and spiritually.
