at the Congress

„Interdisciplinary Vision in Dental Medicine”

Hello,

Ladies and Gentlemen, honored guests,

Dear Colleagues,

Dear residents and students,

Distinguished participants of the 11th National Congress with International Participation
“INTERDISCIPLINARY VISION IN DENTISTRY”,

Please accept the greetings of the University Leadership and our appreciation to the academic and scientific community abroad, domestically, and within the university for your contribution through your presence and participation in the proceedings of this Congress.

The priority objective of Titu Maiorescu University has been and will remain ensuring excellence in education, research, and innovation. Through their missions, health faculties, including the faculty of dentistry, are emblematic of the university and represent a true calling card that we are proud of. Moreover, this area is a priority in the development strategy of UTM.

The development of UTM is based on a strategy with clear objectives, whose fulfillment stage is analyzed annually. We pursue opportunities arising in the market (we do not benefit from state budget funds, except for certain research projects) and we continuously adapt to the requirements of the Romanian and European labor market.

Investments in the university's material base are accelerating.modernizing buildings, developing the medical university campus, implementing smart systems such as integrated building management, and green energy are just a few examples. Digitalization this is another major objective, achieved either from own resources or from projects – we are on the list of 61 universities benefiting from qualification in the large project of the Romanian Government, through the Ministry of Education for the digitalization of universities.

Thus, at the University, on a generous campus of over 45,000 m²2, which includes, in addition to teaching spaces, dormitories, a canteen-restaurant, media rooms, a cafe-bar, and a sports hall, serves over 9000 students enrolled in bachelor's, master's, and doctoral programs, in addition to approximately 1200 residents. Another strong point is represented by the partnerships developed with private, public hospitals, and private dental practices in the training of students and residents.

The student is at the heart of the concern of an exceptional teaching staff that ensures the development of skills to facilitate the rapid integration of graduates into the labor market. In addition to these, we contribute to the formation of their humanistic consciousness anchored in democratic values.

In line with the mission undertaken by the University Charter, advanced research is a priority objective of our University, with particular attention given to innovative scientific research fields and topics, the medical field being one of them.

In this way, the Titu Maiorescu University contributes to the progress of fundamental and applied sciences, to innovation and technological transfer. Evidence of this are the invention patents, the numerous awards obtained at specialized shows at home and abroad, the specialized articles and volumes published, and the Conferences and Congresses organized.

The budget allocated to university research is substantial. The development of human resources necessary for research is also substantially supported through the programs of the University's 3 doctoral schools. Another constant concern of the "Maiorescu" academic community is increasing the visibility of scientific research through the organization of such scientific events.

The development of an academic culture of scientific research is another constant concern of Titu Maiorescu University, both for students, master's and doctoral students, as well as for the training and professional development of the teaching staff who work in the university's faculties.

I believe that Titu Maiorescu University can become a relevant player in national and international university research only to the extent that it is capable of developing more research partnerships and bringing together the human intelligence of each faculty on the same scientific research stage, alongside funding opportunities.

I appreciate that the scientific event presented, through the results obtained and showcased in the innovative works, represents a contribution of medical scientific research to improving the quality of life by enhancing the health status of the population. The Congress sections have current themes and are intended for both academic staff, doctoral students, residents, and students.

In conclusion, I would like to thank the organizers for their efforts and assure you of the full appreciation of the management UTM.

I declare the proceedings of this Congress open and wish complete success to the work of each section.

Thank you!

Daniel Cochior, Rector of Titu Maiorescu University
