The 16th edition of the National Conference on Business Criminal Law brought together specialists and practitioners in the field to discuss and hear about relevant and current topics in this legal area.
In addition to current topics, it has brought to the debate one of the main challenges of criminal law: cybercrime in the age of Artificial Intelligence (AI).
The launch of issue 2/2025 of the Romanian Journal of Criminal Law of Business and the ARDPA Yearbook, the special guest's speech, University Professor, Dr. Alexandru Boroi (Titu Maiorescu University), as well as the awarding ceremony for the RRDPA and ARDPA Awards for the year 2025.
Professor Alexandru Boroi, special guest of this specialized legal event, a renowned professor of criminal law who turned his attention to this field nearly 25 years ago, shared his experience, thus highlighting the position of business criminal law within the Romanian legal system.
Otherwise, Professor Alexandru BoroHe is a pioneer in the field of criminal business law research by developing the university course titled “Criminal Business Law,” serving as an inspiration for all subsequent works in this scientific area.
The 8th edition of the “Business Criminal Law” course brings together, under the coordination of Professor [Professor's Name], four other co-authors: Associate Professor Dr. Mirela Gorunescu, Associate Professor Dr. Ionuț-Andrei Barbu, Associate Professor Dr. Bogdan Vîrjan, and Lecturer Dr. Iulia-Elena Nistor.
During this event, Prof. Dr. Mihai-Adrian Hotcă – President of the Romanian Association of Criminal Law of Business and scientific coordinator of the event, presented the RRDPA and ARDPA Awards for 2025. On this occasion, Prof. Dr. Alexandru Boroi received the “Personality of the Year 2025 in the Field of Criminal Law of Business” award, and the course initiated and coordinated by him received the “Best Book in the Field of Criminal Law of Business 2025” award.
These awards honor the professional work of Prof. Dr. Alexandru Boroi, who has dedicated his entire career to the study of criminal law in all its areas.
