Titu Maiorescu University, 35 years since its founding – Faculty of Computer Science, a moment of reflection, gratitude, and joy!
The 35th anniversary of Titu Maiorescu University's existence represents a moment of reflection, gratitude, and joy, which was marked by Faculty of Informatics by organizing, on April 10, 2025, a To the Festive General Assembly, an event that brought together the University's leadership, the faculty's teaching staff, the most merited students, alumni, and special guests.
We were honored by the presence of: To the President of the University, Prof. univ. dr. Iosif Urs, to the Rector, Prof. univ. dr. Daniel Cochior, to the President of the Senate, Conf. univ. dr. ing. Iustin Priescu, to the Vice President, Prof. univ. dr. Smaranda Angheni, to the Vice President, Prof. univ. dr. Valentin Pau, to the Vice Rector, Prof. univ. dr. Titi Paraschiv, to the Vice Rector, Conf. univ. dr. Elena Rusu, to the Director of IOSUD, Prof. univ. dr. Ionica Oncioiu, to the Vice Rector, Lect. Univ. dr. Teofil Panc who gave speeches.
The path taken by the University and the Faculty was remembered, the beginning moments and remarkable achievements were evoked, the people who contributed to the success of the academic community, and the future strategic directions. The special contribution of Conf. univ. ing. Iustin Priescu, who have been on the Faculty of Informatics board from 2012 to 2024, in consolidating the faculty's position, in involvement in multidisciplinary projects, and in the ability to bring together diverse teams.
A special moment was dedicated to the late General (R) Prof. univ. dr. ing. Emil Crețu, the first Dean of the Faculty, who led it with devotion for almost a decade. For his contribution, as a token of appreciation, the University offered him the UTM35 Diploma and Anniversary Medal, which were handed over to his wife.
In appreciation and gratitude for their involvement and contribution to the development and growth of the Faculty's and University's prestige, faculty members and special guests were awarded the Anniversary Diploma and Medal UTM35.
Throughout its three and a half decades of existence, Titu Maiorescu University has established itself as an essential landmark in the fields of education, research, and innovation, and the Faculty of Computer Science has actively and consistently contributed to this journey, being an integral part of an academic community of excellence.
The Faculty of Computer Science provides a suitable framework for training computer science specialists, challenging them with a concrete and adapted educational offering that allows them access to well-defined and in-demand professions in the IT field, while also instilling in them an interest in scientific research, intellectual work, and creative thinking. Through its initiated projects, our faculty creates an environment conducive to innovation and academic excellence. Investments in modern laboratories, partnerships with industry, and projects in emerging fields such as AI, cybersecurity, robotics, and smart solutions contribute to the development of specialists prepared to influence the future of technology.
At this anniversary milestone, we celebrate our accomplishments to date and look forward to the future with confidence.

Critical Infrastructure Protection Course – Computer Science Faculty
Faculty of Informatics within Titu Maiorescu University invites you Saturday, March 23, 2024, 10:00 AM, Corporation V, 3rd Floor, Media Room at Open course – Critical Infrastructure Protection.
Our special guest is Dr. Ing. Virgil – Claudiu BANU from Honeywell Romania, expert in:
- configuration and design of security systems and equipment, as well as solutions (CCTV, ACS, IDS, PIDS, BMS, PAGA, IPBX) from various suppliers: Honeywell, Axis, Pelco, Synetics, Siqura, Bosch, FFT, Optasense, Raytec, Redwall, etc.
- design and operation of Honeywell industrial automations (Experion PKS, Safety Manager, Fail Safe Controller) and other systems/solutions (PLC, SCADA) from the Honeywell portfolio.
Within the course whose main theme is Protection Critical Infrastructures The following topics will be discussed:
- Security Systems Design
- Intrusion Detection System (IDS)
- Video surveillance (CCTV)
- Access Control (ACS)
STUDENTS FROM TITU MAIORESCU UNIVERSITY STAND WITH THE HEROES IN HOSPITALS
Computer Science students from Titu Maiorescu University – high level of trustworthiness, decided to actively get involved in the fight against COVID-19. The young people are making protective visors and donating them to frontline hospitals.
Such a donation of protective materials, so necessary for medical staff, also arrived at the headquarters Bucharest Hospitals and Medical Services Administration. Visors made using 3D printing technology will be delivered as soon as possible to healthcare facilities under the administration of Bucharest City Hall.
The gesture of these extremely talented young people makes a difference in this fight against the new Coronavirus, and we want to thank them for the way they chose to get involved and help!
