SEMINAR DEDICATED TO THE FACULTY'S MASTER'S PROGRAMS

Homework Introduction to Reinforcement Learning

Guest Manuel Rinaldi, Director of Architecture @ Playtika,

PhD in Automatic Control and Computer Science (graduated from the Faculty of Computer Science, UTM)

Data November 8, 2025, 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM

Location: Titu Maiorescu University, Building M, Room M113

Details:
This seminar aims to offer participants an engaging deep dive into how intelligent agents learn through interaction, rewards, and experience. Our guest speaker will guide the audience through the essential concepts behind AI decision-making—from the exploration-exploitation trade-off to value functions and policy learning—illustrated with clear examples and intuitive explanations.

The event is open to students and AI enthusiasts who want to understand how machines can learn to make better decisions and how Reinforcement Learning principles power applications in gaming, robotics, and the technologies we interact with in our daily lives.

About the speaker:

Manuel Rinaldi graduated from the Faculty of Computer Science, the Computer Science bachelor's program, as well as the master's in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence. He is currently pursuing doctoral studies at the Politehnica University of Bucharest, in the field of Automation and Computers, with the thesis topic "Procedural Content Creation and Reinforcement Learning for Improving Video Game Experience.".

He's been passionate about technology since childhood and enjoys understanding how things work, not just how to use them. He's worked with multiple programming languages and has over 15 years of experience developing and launching online games. He currently works at Playtika in the Artificial Intelligence department, where he contributes to the development of intelligent agents to improve internal processes.
