About us

History and tradition

The Faculty of Economics is a reference academic structure in private higher economic education in Romania. In the fall of 1990 was established the first faculty with this profile in the Romanian private private education - the Faculty of Economics.

The quality of programs and professionalism in the training of students were confirmed by the accreditation obtained by Law no. 239 of 23.04.2002 (within the first accreditations of private higher education in Romania). The accreditation has confirmed the full integration into the national education system and allowed:

  • organization of bachelor and dissertation exams within the faculty;
  • issuing bachelor's and master's degrees;
  • organizing postgraduate programs.

Mission

The mission of the Faculty of Economics is to train specialists in economics, with a solid professional training, able to integrate quickly and meet the demands of the labor market, both in Romania and internationally. At the same time, the faculty aims to develop students' creativity and competitive spirit, in line with the requirements of the knowledge-based society.

 Education and performance

The educational process is organized according to the Bologna structure in two study cycles:

  • license - 3 years;
  • master - 2 years.

Undergraduate studies take the following forms:

  • full-time education (FE);
  • distance learning (ID).

 Professional outlook

 Our graduates benefit from a wide range of opportunities, both in the private sector and in public institutions, depending on their specialization and chosen pathway. Common career directions include:

  • financial analysis and planning (budgeting, controlling, management reporting, performance analysis);
  • accounting and financial reporting (general accounting, management accounting, IFRS/national reporting, consolidation);
  • internal and external audit and control (procedures, compliance, risk assessment, governance);
  • taxation (tax advice, compliance, optimization, audit assistance, tax policies);
  • insurance and risk management (underwriting, claims, actuarial - as a further direction, risk management);
  • business management and administration (operations, supply chain, procurement, sales, project management);
  • consultancy (financial accounting, taxation, management, business analysis);
  • entrepreneurship - from start-ups to developing a business in services, trade or manufacturing;
  • further studies through masters programs, postgraduate training and relevant professional certifications, depending on the chosen field.

Study programs

Cycle I (License) - areas and programs:

  • Finance – Finance and banking (IF and ID)
  • Accounting – Accounting and management informatics (IF and ID)
  • Business administration – Business administration (IF)

Cycle II (Master) - professional master programs:

  • Taxation and financial policies - organized together with the Chamber of Tax Consultants
  • Accounting, auditing and public accounting - organized together with CECCAR
  • Business administration

International opening

Faculty applies European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS), which facilitates academic mobility for one or two semesters at universities in the European Union and other countries, with recognition of the results upon return to Romania.

The faculty also has partnerships with universities abroad, supporting academic exchanges and international collaborations. These include:

Spaces and facilities

The Faculty of Economics has, for teaching activities, premises in the buildings Corp V and Corp M, Văcărești campus.
