Regarding the investigations conducted at the Titu Maiorescu University headquarters concerning a series of real estate and economic suspicions, the University expresses its full confidence in the actions taken by law enforcement agencies under the banner of legality and in the name of establishing the truth. The University cooperates on all levels with the representatives of state institutions to achieve justice, while also wishing for the accurate presentation of the situation in the public sphere.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Within this framework and in relation to the information disseminated, from the very beginning, in the media \u2013 almost simultaneously with the investigation \u2013 the University is a series of clarifications<\/i>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Titu Maiorescu University is a private higher education institution that does not operate with public funds. The University owns the land and buildings that are the subject of research, directly or indirectly. All acts and contracts carried out within the University - including those of interest to investigative bodies, dating from 2005-2011 - have been and are being conducted in full compliance with the law, respecting current legislation and internal regulations, with the approval of legal counsel and the authorization of the University's Board of Directors and Senate. Under these circumstances, one cannot speak of \u201eillegalities,\u201d \u201eembezzlement,\u201d \u201etrafficking,\u201d \u201eintellectual forgery,\u201d etc., as claimed in some media.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Titu Maiorescu University expresses its disagreement with the biased way in which research activities concerning it have been and are presented in the media: shocking headlines, sensationalist in nature, which do not pursue the truth but only ratings, news taken letter for letter<\/i> in the online environment, which abounds in false information and data, images of masked police raids, accompanied by wolf-dogs, at the university headquarters (archive images unrelated to the university campus). All of this constitutes an incorrect and abusive manner, under the sign of fake news<\/i>, but rather to present a situation under investigation by the competent authorities. Such approaches demonstrate, in addition to indifference towards the truth, a violation of the mandatory norms of professional deontology. It is not unimportant that these concerted attacks against the University, before the conclusions of the investigation, are taking place during an important period of the academic year, that of the July 2021 admission session.<\/p>\n

Titu Maiorescu University remains open to cooperation with state institution representatives, providing them, with full transparency, all necessary information and data. At the same time, it expresses its desire to re-establish the truth, emphasizing the need for legal and moral sanctioning of acts of public disinformation. Through such approaches, the image of Titu Maiorescu University, one of the important universities in the country, recognized nationally and internationally for the quality of its studies, for its seriousness and academic and professional competitiveness, is profoundly affected in the public sphere. The University will return with new official viewpoints.<\/p>\n
